Churning Out Words

Creator Journals 8/8/25

I’m not sure which group of characters to start revealing next. A lot of them have reveals and first-appearances which I would rather keep to myself until it’s time to publish.

I got my thousand words in today. I’m writing a segment from the POV of a side character and I’m trying to give them a bit of development. I ended up having to research a specific personality, so they’ll probably have a much bigger role in book 2, since I’m sinking so much time into them. I might move some things around, since I’m just coming off of a long segment from another minor character’s POV in chapter 8, and I don’t want my readers to miss the main cast too much, but I’m trying to set things up for the climax.

I’m going to have to do some research to figure out the names of more medieval undergarments. I’ll also have to study tenements a little bit. I’m imagining them a lot like modern apartments, which doesn’t seem accurate. Would a tenement have a kitchen?I don’t know. Would it have a source of heat? Do I need to invent some kind of magic oven crystal? Who knows.

Nobody knows.

Today’s writing tip: Play to your strengths. It’s fine to improve on your weaknesses, but if you know you have a particular skill, use it!
