Creator Journals 8/7/25
No character bio today. I think I want to reveal the 4th member of the Sea Larks in the story proper. Any good band of troubadours needs a vocalist, and the Sea Larks are no exception.
I just finished drafting chapter 8 and it’s very different from the rest of the book. I might allow it to stay that way, but we’ll see what my beta-readers think. I’m already about 1500 words into chapter 9, which really sets up the climax of the story. I’m having to rewrite most of it from scratch, since the whole novel has undergone a lot of changes since my 10k word draft zero.
I took a while to write today. I’m satisfied by what I’ve written, but I feel kind of empty now, like I want to reset, like I want to descend into the dark and fade into nothing for a bit.
Alas! I’m still at work!
Tomorrow is another day, and I’ll be excited to write another thousand words.
