A poem inspired by The Muse of Cold Earth.
Frozen Flowers III
I tried everything to fix
The tether that connected our worlds but
These dreams of winter never began to thaw
The sun hides from you, like anyone who has been
Invited, engaged, forgotten
Lost to your distance
I can’t drive all that way by myself because the highways make me panic
But there are
Cold, white images of beauty beneath this ice age
Loves and lifetimes that cannot be forgotten
And I am the gardener who cares for these flowers
Because, I alone
Remember

Weather has been crazy this week. Two days ago it was spring. Today we are surviving a sleet apocalypse.
