WD 143 “Uninvited Gods”

A poem inspired by The Muse of Cold Earth.

Uninvited Gods

I can make up my mind

To leave a portion of everything to you

Dragged through the dust, into the dragon’s den

With treasures vile and vulgar

I want to violate, tantalize, the guards at the gate so that

Everything gets in

If you have demons to hide I want to speak to them

Party and parley with them

Show them the intricacies of my geometry

A clandestine affair

But we make it look like

Monday morning

Without any uninvited gods
