Try Brain?

Creator Journals 10/9/25

I was off work today, which means I got 8 hours of sleep instead of my usual 5!

I wanted to spend the day finishing my very first revision of Beach Knight, but I got tired out and only managed to do like 10 pages. I’m supposed to be dedicating this month to “The Cause of Death” but that Beach Knight revision has been hanging over my head. I want to show the end of the story to my loving wife!

Maybe I’ll let myself do a few BK revisions as a treat every time I meet my CoD deadlines. That means a chapter a day every day except Sunday! The final draft definitely needs something, but I’m not totally sure what it is yet.

I should schedule time for creative thinking. I don’t think a lot when I write, which is apparently abnormal. I just sort of sit and let the writing happen. It’s the natural manifestation of my creative digestion.

But I think I’ll try some thinking. I plan to push this book pretty hard, so I want it to be good!

I hope what I find inside my head is good stuff!

Today’s writing tip: Do some stream of consciousness writing. Fill a page with pure nonsense. You’ll find it cleansing.

Success! You're on the list.
