Ominous Art

It’s the weekend and I’m at work, but I got the chance to watch a good zombie movie before things started. It was a good morning.

I’m not really supposed to be doing anything writing related today, but I started brainstorming cover ideas. There are a lot of things I wish I could do. I wish I was good at graphic design and could make my own very specific cover designs. Right now I’m using Canva and their clipart is a bit limited.

It would be cool if I included some kind of visual art of the main character. I put a lot of thought into tailoring her design. I also think it might be cool to put some ominous looking magic sigils at the end of the chapters. I don’t know. I’m trying to think of fun ways to make my book stand out. I’m having a lot of ideas, but all of them require me to learn some new skills.

So I guess I’ll start teaching myself.

Today’s writing tip: Try asking yourself, “Would I want to read this?” before writing anything.
