Early Autumn Dimness

Creator Journals 9/22/25

Happy Monday everybody. It was a gloriously rainy day. I turned the lights off and worked in the early autumn dimness. A good day.

Yeah. I’m gonna throw everything aside and work on my spooky Halloween necromancer story. Well, I’ll at least try to get a few more chapters of Beach Knight to my beta-readers first, but THEN I’m throwing everything aside and working on my spooky Halloween story. I’ve got about half the first chapter written already. I want to have it published and ready for purchase by or on Halloween. That’s the plan and I’m going to make it happen. The world and the news have been stressing me out a bit lately, so I want to focus on something I can control, namely, I can control what I write down on a page.

I’ve been listening to spooky podcasts rather than fantasy audiobooks lately, and unfortunately the tone is impacting my writing style. I think I’ve got to consume some Stormlight Archives with my ears when I revise Beach Knight.

Next month. Scary necromancer story. Mark it on the calendar.

Today’s writing tip: Do what you want. Be fueled by joy and excitement. The world is full of wonder. Drink it in and use it as clay to create with.

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.
