Well, I thought I’d just sit down and fix chapter 2 in one go, but it turns out it’s only 3k words long (as opposed to the later chapters, which are all at least 10k) and really kind of a mess. I think this one may take a bit to reach the standard I’ve placed on this work. I know my original goal was a fast turnaround, but this is going to be the first book in a series, so I need to make it as good as possible. The first one is the one you really have to sell, after all.
I’m noticing just how much my writing has improved since I started this project. The writing in the rough draft of chapter two is miles behind the writing in chapter eight or nine. It leaves more work for me, but it’s also very encouraging.
And I will continue, unto infinite.
Today’s writing tip: Write a new sentence. Right now. Do it. Was it good?
