Legendary Duels

Creator Journals 8/22/25

I am a fan of this story and where it is going. After several days of work, I’m finally off, and very tired, but the creative release has helped me. Turns out, I can write better when I’ve had more than five hours of sleep.

When I started on this project, I thought it would have a lot more fight scenes. My reasoning was that fight scenes were something I was good at, and I could fix the pacing by using fights, however, I got a lot better at the comedy and slice-of-life parts while I was writing. So now, instead, there’s mostly just one big battle at the end of the book, along with two smaller ones at the beginning and in the middle.

This is a story about a knight. What would the point be if he didn’t end each adventure with a legendary duel against the forces of evil?

One more week to go, I think.

Today’s writing tip: A story doesn’t exist until you write it. It is incorruptible because it does not exist. The perfectionism that holds you back also presents your story from naturally taking form and being born. Let it be born. Let it be what it is, imperfect and beautiful.

Success! You're on the list.
