I went to the dentist again today, but they didn’t keep me waiting around, so I didn’t get to write. It was very early, so I took a nap afterwards, and didn’t get to write until three. I was very relaxed today, so it was actually a little bit hard getting back into my writing, but once I did, it all began to flow again.
I’m amazed at how much of a difference constant practice can make. That sounds like it should go without saying, but it’s really like night and day. Writing is so much easier today than it was a month ago, and, with luck, it will be twice as easy in another month. Even comedy is easier. I have the ability to go “I need to think of something funny to put here” and then actually come up with something. The writer I was just in May was not able to do that.
Keep writing, kids! It’s good for your health!
Today’s writing tip: Never spend more than five minutes rough drafting a single sentence. Just move on. Get the story on paper.
