Having Dreams

Creator Journals 8/12/25

Today, I wrote my first 300 words at the dentist. Yes. Actually like on the dentist chair, head leaned back and everything. They were very polite there, but they did make me wait a while in that room. I was out until about 1PM, then I came home and went back to writing.

See, I have a dream. I dream of writing 2000 words a day instead of just 1000. Yes, I know it’s a crazy dream, but crazier things have happened. Like, somehow I got married. That seems even crazier and more unlikely, especially when you consider the fact that my wife is the most amazing woman on the planet.

But I’m not going to push it, not going to test fate just yet. I’ve experienced burnout before and it is not fun.

I just started getting worried that Beach Knight may not be ready for consumption before the start of October, and I just can’t write a Summer story during the peak of Halloween Season. I’m not that powerful.

Even dreams have limits.

Today’s writing tip: If you’re afraid of putting something in your story, put it in. Feel the fear and understand it. Better to know your limits and delete during revision than to live in fear.

Success! You're on the list.
