Creator Journals 8/3/25
I said yesterday that I would be running through some character bios for Beach Knight characters this week, so I guess I’ll start that. I may not say much about the most central characters, since I think I want their stories to unfold with the narrative.
I’ll start by introducing a band of traveling troubadours who end up having a significant impact later on.
The Sea Larks.
First up, the flutist; Aina.
Aina
Height: 5’6 (2 claw, 12 tip)
Weight: 121lbs (40 Scale, 5 flake)
Hair Color: Pale Blue
Eye Color: Dark Indigo
Age: ???
Race: ???
Aina plays the flute for the popular traveling music group known as “The Sea Larks”. She’s a beautiful woman with light tan skin and light blue hair tied in a mixture of locks and loose strands. Her eyes are attractively large and round, and they have a rare indigo color.
She’s known to be incredibly shy and doesn’t really share many of her thoughts, even with her closest friends.
Aina’s bandmates would tell you she’s very shy. She knows how to dance and sing, but doesn’t often do so.
She’s a smart woman, a musical genius, and composes most of the music the band plays, but she’s underappreciated. When something goes wrong with the show, she often takes it personally. She’s prone to panic attacks, especially when faced with scenes of extreme violence. This could be linked to some incident in her past.
She also carries an extreme distrust toward men, bordering on hatred. She sees them as fundamentally other, and antagonistic. This could also be linked to some event in her past. She probably has a reason.
Despite all that, romantic ballads are her favorite songs to write.
Aina is also well studied in the magical arts. During her youth, her study kept her cooped up and separated from others. There are a lot of “Important” life experiences she hasn’t had yet, but on the flipside, she can conjure wind and lightning and many of the other elements.
Aina may or may not carry a strong attraction to other women. She hasn’t decided yet, and the culture she grew up in did not encourage her to explore this element of herself.
When her bandmates argue, she is usually the least likely to speak up, but when she does have something to say, it’s usually biting and vicious.
So, what do you think of her?
Today’s writing tip: Take the time to say everything you want to say.
