Today I ate a gator on a stick. I saw a cow made of butter. I went to the state fair. So . . . I didn’t really do any writing. I definitely sat and thought about writing while I was on the drive up. I’m still trying to put together my thoughts on chapter 8, which will be a pretty vast deviation from the rest of the story so far. It will probably veer in the direction of horror.
How exactly do you shift the tone of your story without ruining the rest of it? I’m not sure. This book is kind of supposed to be a fun adventure, but there are some truly horrific elements. I am a horror fan. At one point, I considered becoming a horror writer. I still might. Someday.
I didn’t do any writing, but I did learn that I really like gator meat. I wish there were more opportunities to eat strange animals. I’m very tired now. It is damned hot. I need water and a horror movie.
Much love.
Today’s writing tip: Be proud of everything you create.
