What Builds Your World?

Creator Journals 7/20/25

My players only made it through about half of what I had prepared last night. It was fun! But I think there are a few areas I could improve in. I wrote them down for next time.

It’s the last day of my work weekend, and I’m pretty spent. I basically always have Monday off, and I’m going to hit the ground running with Beach Knight. I came up with a fun idea for an intermission segment which I think I’ll put between chapter 6 and 7. Basically, the protagonist, Ralgar, idolizes knights, so I want to depict him reading a story about a knight earlier in his childhood. That’s all I’ll say for now, but I think it will make for some solid humor and worldbuilding.

There is no segway for this, but a lot of my writing is very intuitive. I’ve been pretty clear about that. I would assume that many other writers construct their stories in a more intellectual way. But I’ve never been other writers, so I can’t be sure. I wonder how different the process is for different creators.

Mysteries abound.

Today’s writing tip: Listen to a lot of different music. You never know when something will hit just right and inspire a scene!

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.
