Creator Journals 7/3/25
It’s my day off today. I did a bit of outlining, but I’m going into town soon to meet my wife and watch some fireworks, so I don’t have a lot of extra time.
I was going over some of the earlier parts of BK and realized I want to do more to match the vibes I wanted. I don’t just want this story to talk about a beach. I want it to FEEL like a beach. I also want it to feel like a world of high-fantasy, even though the high-fantasy itself isn’t really happening in this book.
So I came up with a list of vibes I wanted to make sure to convey, and I’m going to use descriptive details to try and fit all of them into each chapter. That may sound like kind of an artificial way to go about the process, but that tends to be how I revise things. I usually make a little game out of it, like “How many times can I have this character mention their favorite historical figure and still make it feel natural?”
So yeah, expect vibes!
