My spirit is churning.
My trip out of town is continuing this week, so I still haven’t had any time to write, but I am going to see the new How To Train Your Dragon movie. I do not expect it to be good. The original was amazing and a live action cash grab can’t really do it justice.
I’m trying to give Beach Knight a little bit more of my spirit. Back when I was focused on finishing it in a timely manner, it felt kind of like a chore to check off a list, but I want it to really be something special and meaningful. I want to give it the attention and love it deserves. If I want to make this into a regular annual or semi-annual series, it’s going to be important for me to stick the landing with the first book. That’s something I’ve realized after having to market Book 1 of The Kingdom’s Disdain to a lot of people. A series will only really sell if people really like the first one.
While I’m at it, have you read Book 1 of The Kingdom’s Disdain? It’s only 1 dollar. It has magic, skeletons and a giant spider.
How do you feel about my shameless self promotion? Was it shameless enough?
