I’m temporarily changing my system. I got a little bit stuck in Chapter 5, so I decided I needed to focus a bit more on pre-planning. From now on, for every day I spend writing, I’m going to spend another day vigorously outlining in detail. So far that’s going well. I have an outline for Chapter 5 that’s about 1k words long on its own, so I won’t be guessing and trying to reach arbitrary word count goals. I actually know what’s supposed to happen in this chapter, and what all the characters will be doing. There’s a little bit of a mystery. I’m not really very experienced in that genre, but I want to get better. Not everything can be a joke or a fight scene.
In other news, the sun is out, and I drank too much coffee today. I’m focusing some of this excess energy on Beach Knight, and on doing laundry, so the energy doesn’t go bad and turn into evil, anxious energy. I’m having a good day. Sundays are always off-days for me, and I’m really thankful to have a break from my job. I might try to do more networking on my outlining days as well. We’ll see how that goes.
The sun is shining on me today. I hope the moon shines on me as well.
