I’m still a little bit repulsed by the idea of writing anything else, but I will say a lot of ideas are swirling around in my headspace. Some of my concepts are becoming more solid and meaningful, like I’m letting wet cement settle. I think when it’s time I’ll be ready to plow ahead.
I’m supposed to start running a new D&D campaign this coming weekend, which is fertile ground for inspiration. The setting I use for my stories started with a D&D campaign.
I enjoy running those games not only for the fun of it, but because I’m creating something without any sense of entitlement or permanence. It’s good practice, to create simply for the sake of creation, for the fun of it. Sometimes I think art we create for good friends without the intention to share publicly is more meaningful. Sometimes I gift my wife stories or poems on holidays because that’s the most personal thing I can imagine giving.
Anyway, the sun is shining and all is happy and gay.
