I need some chocolate cake and a stomach that can digest chocolate cake (I’m unfortunately cursed: lactose intolerance!) My day job took a turn for the worse today. While I’d rather not talk openly about what my day job is, just know that when it goes bad it goes very bad.
I’ve done some preliminary writing for the next section of Beach Knight. I created my own random generation table to invent a whole team of fantasy police, AKA The Port Starfish Watch. I use this method a lot of the time when I want a group of people to feel realistically random. I used D8 dice to determine each character’s traits. The majority of racial slots were human, since I imagine humans being the primary racial group on The Islands. The majority of gender slots were given to male, since I imagined more men would be likely drawn to law enforcement in this world. Women were a second, with other gender identities being somewhat rare.
So, somehow I ended up creating a nonbinary middle aged orc. They are the second in command after the Watch Captain. Looks like I’ve got some world building to do! After rest and some form of chocolate.
