A poem inspired by The Muse of Cold Earth
Luna
Put in my place by
The quiet between your words
You have no object permanence
And I’m an immaterial object
Like the light of the moon
Which can be seen from thousands of miles away
I cannot be heard but I can move the tides
The fluids in your body like your serotonin and blood pressure
I wax and wane
Like a dream
Remembered in a moment and then
Lost to the clouds in the sky
–
I reflect something
Like the love of a friend, tempered by lifeless stone
As I tell you you’ll never be alone.
