WD 45 “Gremory”

A verse inscribed in fire and light

Gremory

(The Unwise People)

Let him who walks in darkness

and has no light

trust in the name of the Lord

and rely on his God.

And I could use a hand to hold as I traverse this desert, each grain a lifetime, mine or someone else’s. As you can see, I have nothing but time, not even the shirt on my back or the air in my lungs, but a sense of majesty that only proper fermentation can create.

Field and fountain,

More and mountain

Following the starless night itself as it folds over my shoulders like a cold blanket, whispering the names of gods I never believed in and prophets I never listened to.

It would be a better world for him if she was who she said she was, a better world for her if he was not, but both walk in unison

Footprints in the sand, only one pair

As their feet and hooves have all four learned to occupy the same space.

There is something so natural about the bunglesome way their ghostly bodies move in and out of each other, a perfectly symmetrical hermaphroditic abomination of skin, wool and horns

A certain path the extends in all directions and covers the surface of the sphere, leading to the place where Ozymandias bows, because he knows we all also bow, and he wages war in silence because he knows that’s how all wars end,

But, I stay out of the argument-

opting for neither combat nor surrender. I’ve learned to walk back up the funnel of an hourglass, and I’m waiting there,

still waiting.
