Hi, I’m author, Ohio Citizen, and raging Shin Megami Tensei fan Paul Lang. Today I would like to talk to you about, three things I like, in order to balance all the hate in my last post. In fact, I want to me “Three things I really like” a regular Wednesday thing, and so, without further ado.
- Chainsaw Man: One of my two favorite Manga! (The other is called Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, and I may talk about it later). It’s a horror/action manga about a dude who can turn his limbs and head into chainsaws at will, which is pretty rad on its own. I wish I could do that. That’s all well and good, but the main reason I like it is for the characters and the amazingly dry humor. I’ve never laughed at a comic the way I laugh at this one. It takes lot to impress me these days when it comes to anime and manga. I’ve seen and read like, a lot of it, but this is amazing.
- Wild Rift: I can play League of Legends! On my phone! And it’s the controls are kind of better on mobile honestly! My phone got very hot, but that is a small price to pay for pwning the n00bs.
- Cooked Mushrooms: When I was a teen, I had a dream where there was this black gooey stuff that came from under people’s fingernails. It was super gross and smelled really strongly of mushrooms. After that dream, I didn’t like mushrooms anymore. In college, I had a lot of friends who liked to make stir-fry, and I always ended up making it difficult by being that one guy who completely hated mushrooms. Then, one day, everything changed. Over a Christmas holiday, I was staying with my family and there was a bowl of cooked mushrooms set out as an appetizer. I had skipped lunch, and I was so hungry that I ate about half the bowl. After that, my brain chemistry fundamentally changed, and now I love mushrooms! I put them on pizza, I sautee them with fish and rice, there is almost no context in which I do not enjoy them. This is a redemption story. Anyone can change, and hate can always give way to love.
Hey, you know what else I like? My own book, Sick Butterfly, which is out this month! Go, buy it!
